Algiers — Algeria and Canada held Wednesday here political consultations, part of the mechanism established by the MoU signed on 9 January 2011 between the two countries, said a communiqué of Foreign Affairs Ministry.
The "consultations represented an excellent occasion to consolidate the political dialogue between the two countries," the source said.
"Both parties have conducted an overall assessment of bilateral relations especially in the field of investments in order to contribute to the diversification effort of the Algerian economy," the statement added.
Canada and Algeria are bound by dynamic commercial relations marked by bilateral exchanges worth $1.16 billion during the first three quarters of 2015.
"Cooperation between the two countries is significant in the agri-food industries, hydrocarbons and building of infrastructures. It is also important in the sectors of education and university exchanges," the communiqué stressed.
