ALGIERS-The government has adopted a new development plan for the National Company of Industrial Vehicles (SNVI), aimed at boosting productivity and competitiveness of this public company, Minister of Industry and Mines Abdeslam Bouchouareb announced Tuesday in Algiers.
"I have submitted to the government, through an inter-ministerial council held (Monday), a development plan for SNVI. The record was adopted," the minister said on the sidelines of the celebration of the 20th National Day of Standardization, without providing further details.
Bouchouareb stated that SNVI, which was "virtually stopped", needed a "contingency plan" to start production "very quickly."
He also considered that the company should make "an effort in relation to its restructuring plan and its implementation in accordance with the objectives set."
The minister added that the development plan will be supported by the Council of State’s Shareholdings (CPE), stressing that this development plan is similar to that recently adopted for the metallurgical complex of El Hadjar.
