SETIF-Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal Saturday inaugurated three industrial units located in the industrial area of ​​the province of Setif.

During the opening ceremonies, Sellal stressed that "nothing will stop the government's determination to continue its efforts to win the battle of the investment" because he has said, "the establishment of a strong economic base is likely to further boost development and improve the social conditions of citizens."

In this regard, he added that improving the social situation of Algerians constitutes, in addition to security, the State's top priorities.

The Prime Minister also instructed the officials in charge of the development, promotion and monitoring of investments to "respond to all investment applications in the province in a period that may not exceed two months."

"We do not want to hear about projects on stand-by," insisted Sellal before calling for the involvement of the sectors of vocational training and high education in the local investment development process.

The Prime Minister had earlier opened an electrical cable manufacturing unit implemented by "K-Plast Cables" LLC, which has invested more than DZD 2.73 billion. Constructed and equipped in 24 months over an area of 20,000 m2, the plant, which helps reduce imports of such products, generated 280 job positions, according to its leaders. Sellal also opened a pulp plant under the private status of joint stock company "Faderco". The unit, whose works started at the end of 2013, spends over an area of ​​20,000 m2, with an investment of DZD 3.55 billion, generated 230 jobs.

On site, Sellal heard a presentation on the future industrial complex for production and processing of tissue, initiated by the same company for an investment of over DZD 2.2 billion.

Spanning an area of ​​over 72,000 m2, this future industrial complex was launched in September 2015 and is expected to be delivered in months. According to Faderco officials, the complex will begin production in March 2017 and will create 460 jobs.

The Prime Minister has finally inaugurated in a complex for the production of glazed ceramic tiles, which costs DZD 3 billion invested by the Khenfri group. The plant, which covers an area of ​​73,642 m2, is equipped with modern equipment and employs 420 people.

Its production will help meet the national market needs, the manager added.
