TAMANRASSET (Algeria)- At least 294 Niger's nationals in Algeria, and whose papers are not in order, left early Thursday the reception centre of Tamanrasset (1970-km south of Algiers), for repatriation to their country of origin.

Those nationals arrived Wednesday in the reception centre of Tamanrasset, coming from Algiers, the Algerian Red Crescent committee in Tamanrasset said, adding that they were transported aboard eight buses, in addition to four trucks carrying their properties.

The operation was supervised by the Red Crescent which, in coordination with various partners, mobilized the required human and material resources to ensure that the repatriation runs smoothly, including the administrative procedures at Niger's consular services in relation to the trip, Moulay Cheikh said.

Another group of 226 illegal nationals, carried from the province of Ouargla (800-km southeast of Algiers), had been repatriated three days ago, through the border town of In-Guezzam, Tamanrasset, ahead of the arrival of a group of nationals from Setif (300-km east of Algiers), in the coming days, according to the source.
