ORAN- The third high-level seminar on peace and security in Africa will open Sunday in Oran (432-km west of Algiers) with the participation of Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ramtane Lamamra, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The three-day meeting will bring together foreign ministers Angola, Egypt, Nigeria, Rwanda, Chad, Senegal and Burundi, as well as experts and representatives of African and United Nations organizations.
The seminar will address issues relating to security and peace in the continent and will assess the progress made in the implementation of the recommendation and actions decided during the previous sessions.
The second high-level seminar on peace and security in Africa took place in Oran from 9 to 11 December. It culminated in the adoption of several recommendations, including the need for African solutions to African crises, promotion of dialogue, consultation and regional and continental cooperation for major peace and security issues in Africa.
On Saturday, Lamamra, accompanied by a large delegation of the African Union visited the province of Mascara (361-km west of Algiers).
