Algiers — A Venezuelan show of traditional and popular songs was presented Wednesday evening in Algiers by Venezuelan artists Carmen Zapata, José Delgado and Saturno Mangierie.
For more than one hour, the artists presented a varied repertoire of songs telling love, romance, myth and the citizen dedication, to full packed Aissa Messaoudi theatre of the Algerian Radio.
With her clear voice, Soprano Carmen Zapata, wearing a traditional dress in the colors of the Venezuelan national flag, performed a dozen folk songs namely "Ansiedad", "Carmen La Qué Cantaba 16 anos", "La Vecina" (joropo), "Motivos Llaneros" and "Cancion Que Cantaba El Comandante Chavez a Su Pueblo".
The singer who thrilled the audience was accompanied by guitarist José Delgado who later presented five wonderful songs "Juan Leon", "Maria","Liberen Prometeo", "La Novia Del Pescador" and "Parado En Tu Pecho".
Saturno Mangierie with the electric guitar and Moroccan guitarist Adam Hakiki captured the audience with "Allah Oh Akbar" and "Jasmin", before closing the show with "El Becerrito" and "Tonada de Luna" by Simon Diaz.
As part of the Venezuelan Cultural Week in Algeria (November 29 to December 6), the show was organized by the Embassy of Venezuela in collaboration with the Algerian Radio.
