Algiers — Algeria is a "strategic partner" in several fields for Austria, Secretary General of Austria's federal Foreign Affairs Ministry Michael Linhart stressed Thursday in Algiers.
"Algeria represents a strategic partner for in several fields. Our countries maintain strong and diversified political, economic and cultural relations," Linhart told the press after his meeting with Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ramtane Lamamra.
The Austrian's FM stated that economy "offers great potential for both countries, whose relations are developing well," adding that "further efforts should be madet" in this field.
As for migration issues, deradicalization and counterterrorism, Linhart described Algeria as "an important partner for Austria."
"We seek to further develop relations and consolidate cooperation with Algeria in this fields, especially as our countries share the same views and offer great potential for cooperation", he assured.
Linhart's visit to Algeria, the second after that of last October, "is an opportunity to further strengthen political dialogue between Algeria and Austria," the Foreign Ministry stated.
Besides, Austrian official's visit is also meant to review aspects of bilateral cooperation and discuss ways and means to strengthen them.
