DAMASCUS- Syrian Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Hammam al-Jazairi on Sunday has hailed the "wise and objective" of Algeria on Syrian crisis and other Arab issues.
In a statement to the press at the end of hhis discussions with Minister of Maghreb Affairs, African Union and Arab League Abdelkader Messahel, who is on a working visit to Syria, al-Jazairi said that Algeria's position on Syrian crisis stemmed from "its sovereign decisions and its experience in struggling for independence."
Al-Jazairi added that Messahel's visit to Syria shows "the support of President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika to Syria in its war against terrorism."
The visit will "strengthen the economic and social recovery in Syria, particularly by boosting cooperation in all areas," said the Syrian minister.
Messahel arrived Sunday in Damascus for a working visit, during which he will co-chair with al-Jazairi the 2nd session of the Algerian-Syrian Cooperation Monitoring Committee on Monday. The session will be devoted to the situation in the region as well as other regional and international issues of common interest.
