Algiers — President of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People of Tunisia Mohamed Ennaceur started Monday an official two-day visit to Algeria, at the invitation of Speaker of the People's National Assembly (Lower House) Mohamed Larbi Ould Khelifa.
In a statement to the press after his arrival in the international airport Houari Boumediene, Ennaceur stated that his visit to Algeria is part of "strengthening bilateral relations in several fields for the best interest of the two brotherly countries."
The Tunisian official stressed that "the strong partnership" between the two countries in the parliamentary field, hailing "historical relations between the two peoples."
Ennaceur stated "he came to extend feelings of esteem and consideration of the Tunisian people to the Algerian people for their support and solidarity following the terrorist attacks that targeted Tunisia."
Ennaceur was welcomed upon his arrival in the airport by Speaker of the People's National Assembly (Lower House) Mohamed Larbi Ould Khelifa.
During his visit, Ennaceur will meet Speakers of both Houses of Algerian parliament and senior officials.
